About this Event
OCTOBER 15, 2016. Race across bridges and along our fast, flat courses. The Half & 10K are running the full span of the 65-foot high Neuse River Bridge this year! All three are USATF-certified routes. http://www.bridgerun.org/
We want to let you know that the Bridge Run board of directors met tonight and has decided not to hold the event this weekend. Many concerns were voiced at the meeting, most specifically the importance of ensuring the safety of all involved. We cannot guarantee that the flood waters in the areas surrounding New Bern will allow for safe travel in or out of town & of course we must err on the side of caution. We are disappointed that this decision had to be made, but of course safety and consideration for our neighbors in this time of distress are of utmost importance. We are exploring alternate possibilities, and the board will reconvene in two weeks to make a final decision as to what will happen with the 2016 Run moving forward. Thank you for your understanding, and we urge you all to take care and heed all safety precautions this weekend.
The Neuse River Bridge Run is held in 300-year-old historic downtown New Bern, offering magnificent views of the Neuse and Trent Rivers. There's plenty to do in and around town; spend some family time touring downtown New Bern, visit Tryon Palace, paddle on the river or try one of our delicious eateries. Course distances include a half-marathon, 10K or 5K race. Participants who wish to walk may choose the 5K route only.
All courses are pending USATF certified and runners are chip-timed.
